Track record

Former COO of Tabs. I built its creator program to 100M monthly social impressions, and the paid ad engine alongside it. The numbers below come from videos that program produced.

At Tabs I built the creator program to 100M monthly social impressions and ran the paid ad engine next to it. The playbook here is the same: a small roster, one variable per test, losers killed early. The category is different. I have not run pet products, so every claim and every size comes from K9's own wording.

Why now

  • 4,144

Reviews counted on one K9 page

The site displays 4,144 Reviews on a page. Owner language is already there. Creators add faces and dogs to it, inside the claims sheet.

    Published
  • 7,065

    A second, larger review count

Another page shows 7,065 Reviews. That is a deep pool of real use to borrow hooks from, as long as creators quote it as written.

    Published
  • 5.0

Mini Bolster Pillow Dog Bed rating

The Tough Ripstop Mini Bolster Pillow Dog Bed holds a 5.0 rating from six reviews. A small base, and a fair place to start filming.

Principles

  1. One number to protect

Cost per 1,000 views, target $1. The simulator starts at $5.74, so every test asks what closes that gap: the hook, the format or the creator.

  2. One variable per test

Same bed, same claim, only the opening line changes. Seven videos per creator a week gives the hook library enough reps. Losers are killed early.

  3. Dog first, product second

Every video opens on the dog, then the Chew Proof Armored bed, the Travel Mat or the leash. Size is always quoted by dog weight, as K9 writes it.

  4. Pay for reach, cap the risk

Base $300 to $800 by band, caps $600 to $1,500, one $50 bonus past 100,000 views. Ten creators at the top cap reach a $15,000 ceiling.

Briefs, drafts, reviews and the weekly numbers

Illustrative
  1. Report botAppMon 8:00 AM

Weekly report posted: views by creator, cost per 1,000 views against the $1 target, and the top hook of the week.

  2. DanaMon 8:30 AM

This week is the Chew Proof Armored Vinyl Elevated Dog Bed. Open on the dog, one hook per video, show the size label by weight. Seven videos each, drafts due Thursday.

  3. RafaMon 9:10 AM

Can I say the cover is chew proof? My dog is a digger.

Use the sheet line only: "This cover is intended for use with diggers, scratchers, and dogs who like to get a little rough with their beds." No promise past that.

  4. DanaWed 2:15 PM

Draft two says the leash lasts forever. Re-shoot the opening and quote the sheet wording on durability, nothing longer.

  5. JoThu 6:40 PM

The Travel Mat clip just passed 100,000 views, all organic. Want me to post a second one?

Yes, same hook, new dog. Send the draft first.

  6. Bonus botAppFri 9:00 AM

Bonus check: organic views only, claims sheet clean, category rule clean. Cleared for the $50 bonus.

The messages illustrate the working channel, with invented people: briefs go out on Monday, claims questions get an answer the same day, and nothing posts without the check.

Part 5 of 15

Formats

  1. Crate night

    Brief 01

    Crate night

“Crate night, for a dog who treats beds like a project.”

One take of the dog settling in a Padded Dog Crate Bed. Show the size label and the crate it fits.

  2. Digger check-in

    Brief 02

    Digger check-in

“My digger gets one more chance at this bed.”

Dog and bed in the first second, then the vinyl surface close up. Durability only in sheet wording.

  3. First lap, new collar

    Brief 03

    First lap, new collar

“Walk with me: the K9 Pro Collar, first lap.”

Handheld walk, collar visible at chest height, one color variant. No claim about control beyond the sheet.

  4. Morning loop leash

    Brief 04

    Morning loop leash

“Leash test on the morning loop.”

Walk the same route as always, leash in frame, handle and clip shown once. Say the material as K9 names it.

  5. Trunk to trailhead

    Brief 05

    Trunk to trailhead

“Trunk to trailhead, the mat comes along.”

Unroll the Travel Mat at the car, dog lies down on it. Name the size by dog weight as K9 writes it.

Every product line in a video comes off the claims sheet word for word, for example “K9 Ballistics® dog beds are tough and durable.”, “This cover is intended for use with diggers, scratchers, and dogs who like to get a little rough with their beds.”, “Built to Last a Lifetime™”. Product names are said as printed.

Part 6 of 15

Recruiting

Four sources in

  • Owners of diggers and chewers

Pet-owner creators whose dogs wreck beds. Their crate footage fits the Chew Proof Armored line and the covers made for rough play.

  • Big-breed households

Owners of dogs past 80 lbs, who already shop the XL & Giant Breeds range. The Giant & Extra Large beds are built for their dogs.

  • Military and first-responder families

K9 lists a Military & First Responders page in its menu. Creators from those communities are a natural first ask.

  • Affiliate or ambassador page

I did not find an affiliate or ambassador page on the site. Creators join through direct outreach, not a public sign-up.

Five filters, fewer each step

  1. 1A real dog on camera

The dog in the video is the creator's own and appears in the first second.

  2. 2Daylight, handheld

Phone footage in natural light. Polish is not the test, clarity is.

  3. 3Reads the claims sheet back

Paraphrases three approved lines without adding a promise. Anyone who embellishes is out.

  4. 4Clean posting history

Pet gear posts show the ad disclosure and no staged destruction of a dog's belongings.

  5. 5Audience fit

Mostly viewers in the contiguous United States, where K9's free shipping applies.

Part 7 of 15

Who fits

  • Crate-training owner

New dog, new crate, a bed that must survive the first month of nights.

Likely product: Chew Proof Armored™ Padded Dog Crate Bed - Open Box

  • Big-dog owner

A dog over 80 lbs who has outgrown every bed in the house.

Likely product: Chew Proof Armored™ Vinyl Elevated Dog Bed

  • Trail and camping owner

Weekend hikes and campsites, with the dog on a mat in the trunk or the tent.

Likely product: Tough Ripstop™ Dog Travel Mat

  • Daily walker

Two walks a day, one leash that lives by the door and shows up in every clip.

Likely product: K9 Training™ Vegan Leather Dog Leash

  • Puppy trainer

Short training sessions filmed at home with treats on the hip.

Likely product: K9 Training™ Treat Pouch

  • Fetch-obsessed owner

A dog that lives for tennis balls and a creator who films every game.

Likely product: K9 Play™ Squeaky Tennis Ball Dog Toy (Pack of 6)

Left off, every time

Left out always: creators who stage a dog destroying a bed, anyone who promises relief for a dog's pain or joints, and accounts that hide the ad disclosure. Category rule: no health outcomes, no durability beyond the brand's own warranty wording.

Claims sheet

Approved, word for word

Quoted exactly as the brand publishes it.

  • “K9 Ballistics® dog beds are tough and durable.”

Any bed video, as a voice-over line

  • “This cover is intended for use with diggers, scratchers, and dogs who like to get a little rough with their beds.”

Bed Cover videos, spoken or on-screen

  • “Made from heavy-duty ballistic fabric and engineered to maximize strength and durability”

Mini Bolster Cover videos, quoted only

  • “Recommended for medium to large breeds and dogs ranging from 50 to 80 lbs.”

Elevated bed Large size, shown with the label

  • “This pillow mattress is built tough!”

    Mini Pillow Mattress videos

  • “10% Off Your First Order 🐶 Join Our Pack”

Closing card of any video that links to the store

Never said

Each one with the reason it stays out.

  • Your dog can't destroy it, ever

A promise bigger than the warranty wording, and some items sit outside it.

  • It relieves your dog's joint pain

A health outcome. Orthopedic Relief is a menu label, not a creator claim.

  • Vets recommend it

No source on the site, so creators cannot say it.

  • Tougher than every other dog bed

An unsupported comparison with other brands.

  • The pillow fill survives any chewer

The fill sold alone is not chew- or scratch-resistant on its own, per the product page.

  • Free shipping to anywhere

The site says free shipping stops outside the contiguous continental United States.

To confirm with the brand

Held until someone on the brand side signs off.

  • B Corp

The menu shows it, but I need K9's approved wording before any creator says it.

  • Sustainably made

It appears in the site description. Confirm what K9 lets creators say about it.

Pay

  • Starter

    $300–600

    a month, by band

For first-timers with a real dog: a smaller base and cap while they learn the briefs.

    Bonus at the cap: $300

  • Standard

    $500–1,000

    a month, by band

For creators who hit the weekly volume and stay inside the claims sheet.

    Bonus at the cap: $500

  • Premium

    $800–1,500

    a month, by band

For the few whose videos travel: the highest base and cap, kept for proven winners.

    Bonus at the cap: $700

  1. Under 100,000 views

    $0

The base pay covers the work.

  2. 100,000 views

    +$50 flat

    Whatever the band.

  3. 1,000,000 views

    Top-up to your cap

Bonus = band cap − base pay.

  • One bonus per creator per month, however many videos pass 100,000 views.
  • The bonus is $50 flat, paid on a video that passes 100,000 views.
  • Organic views only: boosted or paid views do not count toward the threshold.
  • No bonus on a video that broke the claims sheet or the category rule, even if it took off.

Starter: $600 cap − $300 fee = $300 bonus; Standard: $1,000 cap − $500 fee = $500 bonus; Premium: $1,500 cap − $800 fee = $700 bonus.

The bonus pays for reach after the work is done, never instead of it. One bonus per creator per calendar month keeps it an incentive and keeps the program cost predictable.

Part 11 of 15

Simulator

On the starting inputs, 303 videos a month reach 1.8M views and cost $10,050: $5.74 per 1,000 views against a $1 target. Either 4.2% of videos go viral or the median hits 21,711 views.

Above the $1 target at these inputs.

To hit $1, the roster needs about 10.1M views a month. That means about 4.2% of videos going viral, or a median near 22K views per video. That is why the day-90 gate exists: keep the accounts that clear it, replace the rest.

Proposed, not measured. Views = videos × median, breakouts at 10× the median, viral at 750K. Bonus: +$50 for a viral video, one per creator per month.

The math. Videos a month = 10 creators × 7 a week × 52 ÷ 12 = 303. Views per video = (1 − 4% − 0.5%) × 1,500 + 4% × 10 × 1,500 + 0.5% × 750,000 = 5,782.5; 303 videos × 5,782.5 = 1.8M views a month. Cost = 10 × $1,000 = $10,000 base + 1 bonus × $50 = $10,050. Cost per 1,000 views = $10,050 ÷ 1.8M × 1,000 = $5.74 against a $1.00 target. To hit the target, either 4.2% of videos go viral or the median video reaches 21,711 views, other inputs held.

Move the sliders and the label recalculates. The result is only as good as the guesses behind it, so the median views, the share of breakouts and the share of viral videos are marked as Assumptions until the first month of posts replaces them.

Two creators a week, six weeks

Two creators join each week until ten are live. Everyone gets the claims sheet and one briefing on the Chew Proof Armored line before the first post.

  2. Month 1

    Volume and a hook library

Seven videos per creator a week, one variable per test. The hook library starts and losers are killed early. Base pay runs $300 to $800 by band.

  3. Month 2

    Winners spread

Winning hooks go to every creator. The first clips with real organic traction head to paid tests. The $50 bonus applies past 100,000 views.

  4. Month 3

    Trim the roster

Keep creators who beat the median views, replace the rest. Cost per 1,000 views is read against the $1 target, not against feelings.

  5. Day ninety

    Keep, widen or stop

You decide with the numbers: do 303 videos a month move cost toward $1 per 1,000 views from the $5.74 start? If not, we stop.

  6. Ceiling

    $15,000 a month, full stop

The ceiling assumes all ten creators at the top cap, bonuses excluded. It does not move unless you move it.

The roster grows by two creators a week, so hook performance can be read week over week instead of by anecdote.

Organic to paid

From organic to paid

  1. Post organically

Every video goes up first on the creator's own account, with the ad disclosure in place.

  2. Pick the winners

Videos past 100,000 views, or with the strongest hold, go on a short list.

  3. Ask for rights

The creator agrees in writing before any clip runs as a paid ad.

  4. Test in paid

One variable per test: same clip, new opening. Losers are killed early.

From the video to the checkout

  • Bed videos send viewers to the Shop Dog Beds page.
  • Undecided owners go to Take Our Quiz, the Dog Bed Quiz.
  • First-time buyers see 10% Off Your First Order on the closing card.
  • Leash, collar and Treat Pouch clips go to Essential Dog Gear.
  • Padded Crate Bed Open Box clips go to the Open Box page, and the creator says on screen that Open Box items sit outside the 1 Year Chew Proof Warranty.

Part 15 of 15

Category rules

Pet products: what a creator may say

A dog bed sounds simple, but the claims are not. These six rules keep every video inside K9's own wording and the dog safe on camera.

  • Warranty wording only

Quote warranty terms as written, never paraphrase. The Chew Proof Warranty does not cover every item: the California Grizzly Bear Dog Toy, the Headrest and the Furniture Protector Blanket sit outside it.

  • Fill is not chew proof

Mattress and pillow fill sold alone are not chew- or scratch-resistant on their own. Show them inside a cover, never loose around a chewer.

  • Size by weight

Quote sizing as K9 writes it, by dog weight, such as Large for 50 to 80 lbs. The Giant orthopedic bed is for dogs 80 lbs and up.

  • No health outcomes

Orthopedic Relief is a K9 menu label, not a creator promise. No claims about joints, pain, anxiety or sleep, ever.

  • Dog safety on camera

No filming a dog chewing a bed to prove a point. No toys left with a dog alone. Collars are sized and fitted on screen.

  • Shipping and offers

Free shipping applies inside the contiguous continental United States only. The first-order offer is 10% Off Your First Order. Say nothing about returns on final-sale items, like the K9 Pro Collar.

The brand’s legal team sets the final rules. This is the operating floor I’d start from, not legal advice.
